khaki | devoted hearts session | pittsburgh pet photographer

Khaki’s sweet momma emailed me this summer about a session for her aging boy, and these two were an absolute joy to work with. Denise and her two sons adopted Khaki as a pup 14 years ago, and since her boys grew up and moved out, her bond with Khaki has only gotten stronger.

There’s truly nothing like the love of an old dog. I’m so honored that I was chosen to capture Khaki’s relationship with his favorite human.

These Devoted Hearts sessions are available for both elderly and terminally ill pets whose time may be limited with their families. They end up being some of my favorite sessions, and I’m so glad I can provide these precious memories to clients.

“Blessed is the person who has earned the love of an old dog.” – Sydney Jeanne Seward.

Dale is such a sweet old soul, and I loved capturing him with his adoring humans this fall <3

teddy | devoted hearts session | pittsburgh dog photography

Teddy is dealing with an aggressive form of cancer, but he certainly didn’t let that stop him from being the cutest fluffy guy I’ve photographed in forever! <3

Thoughts are with Teddy’s family as they enjoy his last days.

“How lucky I am to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.”

charlie the golden retriever | devoted hearts | pittsburgh pet photographer

I had the pleasure of meeting Charlie about two years ago, and I will never forget the way he rolled around in the snow like a puppy. This boy was the definition of sweet. Run free, Charlie boy. <3

luna | devoted hearts | sandy lake pet photographer, pittsburgh dog photography

          . . .

Luna is a happy, playful three-year-old Great Dane. She’s also battling cancer for the second time in her young life. The prognosis this time around is not good, and Luna’s sweet friends gifted her family a Devoted Hearts session to create beautiful portraits of their favorite girl before they have to say goodbye.

Today, Luna’s family is having a “Luna Day.” They’ll be spoiling her with yummy foods and going to spend time at the lake. Although it’s so utterly heartbreaking to lose your baby at such a young age, I’m so glad Lenee, Josh, and Dante have time to say goodbye to their girl, and I’m so grateful to have had the honor to meet and photograph her for them. <3
