Two weekends ago, I had the pleasure of attending the second annual Chase Away K9 Cancer Walk in Pittsburgh.  The walk was held in Pittsburgh’s North Park, and despite lots of rain, spirits were high and tails were wagging 🙂  Mary Hummert organized this year’s event in memory of her Irish Setter, Chase, who passed away on April 22, 2011 of Lymphoblastic Lymphoma.  You can follow this cause on Facebook to get involved and please, be sure to attend next year’s event!

Kayla (remember that oh so lovely intern of mine?) and I were brought to tears when the balloon release was underway; event attendees were able to purchase a balloon for dogs they’ve lost in the past, and it was SO emotional remembering the furbabies we miss so much.  I am so grateful to have been able to attend the Chase Away K9 Cancer walk as this year’s event photographer. I hope to see you all at this event next year!
